Azienda Agricola Biava is a producer of Moscato di Scanzo DOCG and other fine wines.
It is located in the municipality of Scanzorosciate just five kilometres from Bergamo.
The vineyards cover the highest area of Mount Bastia, cradle of production of Moscato di Scanzo DOCG, from which you can enjoy a truly unique panorama, ranging from the ancient Upper Town of Bergamo to the shores of Lake Iseo. The size on a human scale, the superb exposure to the sun of all the vineyards, the particularly mild microclimate, the presence of marly-calcareous soil called “Sass de Luna” and the respect for the most ancient traditions, make it possible to produce wines of the highest quality. In particular, these are the best climatic conditions for Moscato di Scanzo DOCG.
The small vineyard contains rare and precious treasures cultivated with care, passion and wisdom.
The drying room is the place where the Moscato di Scanzo DOCG grapes and other passito wines are left to rest on racks and reach their final ripeness.
The cellar has an intimate dimension, with a limited number of steel, wooden and concrete barrels.
Grandpa Giovanni. It was thanks to his love for the land and his commitment, that Moscato di Scanzo Biava was born. His knowhow, the result of experience, was handed down up to today, to produce an exceptional wine.
Silvio Biava turned the business from a family affair to a proper farm, buying the vineyards on Monte Bastia with the best exposure to produce Moscato di Scanzo.
Manuele Biava has collected the passion and knowledge bequeathed to him by his grandfather Giovanni and, by refining the production technique and continuously searching for excellence, he managed to create an unique product in the Lombard wine scene.
